Overview

Termux is a private moderation bot that operates only in the Discord server “Termux”. It is not publicly available and cannot be invited to other servers.

What data the bot accesses

The bot reads the content of messages sent in the server (including text, links, code blocks, and attachment presence) in order to:

  • detect spam, and
  • enforce the rule in #showcase that every post must include an attachment, a URL, or a code block.

The bot also sees Discord user IDs and usernames attached to messages so it can apply moderation actions and write logs.

How the data is used

Message content is processed in real time and only for the moderation purposes above. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or training machine learning or AI models. It is not sold or shared with third parties.

Storage and retention

The bot does not store message content in any database, file, or external service. Message content is held in memory only while it is being checked, then discarded. When the bot takes a moderation action (for example, deleting a message or issuing a timeout), it posts a log entry to a private moderator-only channel inside Discord. That entry may include the user, the action taken, the reason, and the message content involved. These logs live on Discord and are subject to Discord’s own retention and deletion practices. Server moderators can delete log entries at any time.

Opting out

Use of the server is subject to its rules, including automated moderation. Members who do not want their messages scanned may stop posting in the server or leave it. Data deletion requests can be sent to the contact below.

Children

The bot follows Discord’s minimum age requirements and does not knowingly collect data from users under the age Discord permits.

Changes

This policy may be updated. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
